Colombia's PAI schedule (which vaccines, at what age) !

  • Topic

Colombia's Expanded Programme on Immunization (PAI) gives free vaccines from birth. This page sums up what each age is protected against, per the Ministry.

Updated 2026-11-01

What it is

The PAI is the Ministry of Health and Social Protection programme that sets, buys and distributes the national schedule vaccines. In 2025 and 2026 the childhood schedule moved ages and intervals earlier to protect sooner, after outbreaks of yellow fever, measles and pertussis in Colombia and neighbouring countries. The table sums up the ages and what each visit prevents according to the Ministry's pages; it gives no amounts and does not replace the official current schedule.

Key facts

  • From 2026 the influenza vaccine covers children from 6 months to 5 years.
  • Very low birth weight preterm infants born from 1 April 2025 receive an acellular hexavalent vaccine.
  • The measles «Zero Dose» brings protection forward to infants aged 6 to 11 months while outbreaks are a risk.
  • Women aged 10 to 49 also have a diphtheria-tetanus vaccine in the PAI, which prevents neonatal tetanus.
  • A late schedule is completed, not restarted.
